Non-Jedi tactics
New Jedi Master players will spend most of their time as gun-toting non-Jedi. The following tips will make it easier to traverse the level, kill the Jedi and grab the sabre.
General
- Try to time your projectile firing immediately after a Jedi's use of Force Push, for a small amount of time he will be unable to divert your projectile.
- Jumping in the air is a double-edged sword, it reduces your chance of being knocked over by Force Push/Pull but will allow you to be moved further (dangerous on levels with deadly falls such as Nar Shaddaa Streets).
- A stationary Jedi is a vulnerable Jedi. Keep a Jedi in one place as long as possible, Sentries, Shield Generators and Trip Mines are ideal for this, but on an enclosed level, a body-block can be just as effective.
- If you see a Jedi using Rage, wait him out, it will last for at most twenty seconds, at which point he will probably be low on health and suffering from the ten second recovery period. Use it well.
Sabre spawn
As a non-Jedi the first priority is to get the sabre, the following sabre spawn information should help.
When?
- Immediately upon the start of the round.
- Twenty seconds after the current master is killed.
- Immediately after the suicide of the current master.
Where?
Bespin Streets (ffa_bespin)
Under the central bridge.
Death Star (ffa_deathstar)
In the centre of the main hangar by the elevator.
Star Destroyer (ffa_imperial)
In front of the column on the central walkway of the bridge.
Garbage Facility (ffa_ns_hideout)
On the platform opposite the Flechette in the AT-ST hangar.
Nar Shaddaa Streets (ffa_ns_streets)
In the centre of the top most platform next to the Detonation Packs.
Imperial Labs: Raven (ffa_raven)
In the corridor adjoining the Flechette room.
Massassai Temple (ffa_yavin)
In the centre of the temple next to the Missile Launcher.
Level navigation
Level navigation can be tricky when you lack the Jedi's Force Jump, these tips will make traversing the map easier.
- On Bespin a player can reach the upper walkway from the lower walkway by first jumping on one of the walls and then jumping to the upper level. A similar feat can be achieved by jumping from a staircase to the next level (useful to quickly grab the Missile Ammo or the Flechette).
- Also on Bespin the long roof can be reached by first jumping onto the wall next to the glass-roofed room, from there jump on to the roof of that room, then jump to the small ledge and finally the roof.
- On the Death Star the upper bridge can be reached from the lower bridge by jumping via one of the two central columns.
- In the Garbage Facility jump from the Repeater to the walkway via the shortest column.
- In Nar Shaddaa Streets an alternative route to the sabre spawn point is via the short concealed ramp close to the sabre spawn itself.
- At the Massassai Temple a player on the outside of the temple wall can jump over it from the Thermal Detonator roof via the vertical rocks.
- Also at the Massassai Temple a player can jump over the wall from the Repeater alcove by jumping just before the start of the slope and then immediately strafe jumping from the landing point.
