I just want to say that your extension is great. But, I have a suggest for another implementation of it. If it is possible could you make a version of this extension that allows you to press Ctrl+N/T for a new window/tab (like Firefox does now) and then another key combination that will clone the window. I find that at time I want to clone a window/tab, but then at other time I just want a new window/tab. Maybe set up for Ctrl+Shift+N/T or Ctrl+?/". Personally I'm not a big fan of three key hotkeys, but for those of us that would like the best of both worlds it would be a fair trade off.
@rbdragon
Have you tried the Duplicate Tab extension:
Thanks! That's just what I've been looking for.
Thank you very much for this extension. When I first tried Firefox, I hated it for opening the homepage with ctrl-n, and although I came to love Firefox, I still missed this one feature of IE, so I am really happy I came upon this.
This is a great extension, thanks. It makes switching from IE so much easier.
The form cloning, compatability with mouse gesture programs, and the ability to bind itself to ctrl-t make it much better than the "duplicate tab" extension. You should really submit this to Mozilla Update, so more "average joe" users can find it.
Heck, this extension shoud just be included with Firefox from the start!
Thanks for the great extention!
Clone Window 2.5 works great on V1.0.4.
Excellent extension, but since the 1.0.6-en-GB update, the clone tab part of the extension doesn't work anymore :(
@Rob
I'm unable to find any problems with Clone Window on Fx 1.0.6 en-GB.
Could you expand on what you mean by "doesn't work", does nothing happen, does a blank tab open, does a tab without history open, etc. etc.?
Also do you have any other extensions that might be causing a conflict, what happens if you disable your other extensions (right-click on them then select Disable in the Extension Manager then restart Firefox)?
Thank you!!!!!!
(delayed response to #97 and #98 above; sorry, lost track)
No, it works like yours; with Options/Prefs set to NewPage->BlankPage and NewTab->BlankTab, on an antique iMac w/Macosx 10.3.9 and on g4PB w/10.4.2: cmd-T leaves cursor in the URL bar (as expected) but cmd-N does not, but it should (which it sounds like behavior that you agree with, right?)
Thanks

@Erv Edge
Yes, I agree, Firefox normally highlights the URL bar when loading an empty page, and the page content itself otherwise. Clone Window should act the same way, I'll fix it sometime this week.
Pike,
I don't mean to be a pest, but do you still plan on including the feature Erv Edge brought up (highlighting the URL bar when a opening a new window)?
By the way, one of the main reasons delaying my adoption of Firefox was exactly this Ctrl-N issue. I downloaded Firefox as soon as I stumble across your extension! Thanks!
@ttl
If you check Erv's original post he only requested that the location bar be highlighted when the new window is blank, Clone Window now does that. If the new window is not blank CW highlights the content instead. I can see how that might annoy people but it's the same behaviour as Firefox without any extensions so I left it that way.
Excellent extension.
When double clicking on a free spot, in the tab zone, FF opens a new tab: Why isn't this one cloned?
It no longer seems to work with FF 1.5
I can't live without clone window!
Like fungus i have problems with FF and Clone window (I get a fat bar at the bottom with a ^ in it)
Oh! and I'm unable to open a new window at all too...
@rlsx
Because I'm too lazy.
@fungus
Could you expand on "no longer seems to work", what symptoms are you seeing?
@Lauster
Can you just confirm you're not using some ancient version of Clone Window? Also do you get any errors in the JS Console (you may have to go to about:config and set javascript.options.showInConsole to true to see extension errors).
using clone window 0.2.6 w/ FF 1.5: opening a new window takes me to my homepage, no history duplication
using clone window 0.2.3 w/ FF 1.5: new window function does not work at all (i.e. no new window, nothing happens) - might be Lauster's problem?

this extension (along with the options to customise it) is absolutely awesome, thank you so much!
